The MACARENA is a compact hybrid open-baffle bookshelf loudspeaker designed to bring the openness, dimensionality, and bass foundation of MACO®'s larger dipole designs into a smaller form. Crafted in Canada, it combines advanced acoustic engineering with a distinctive architectural approach to sound, materials, and design.

Architecture & Engineering
OPEN-BAFFLE. COMPACT FORM.
Curved internal walls, double-wall construction and specialized damping work together to control unwanted vibrations. The enclosure is defined by continuous curves inside and out, helping reduce reflections, standing waves and resonances. It utilizes MACO® RESOLOS™ Advanced Structural Composite, our proprietary nano-particle material, to provide rigidity while absorbing unwanted vibrations, resulting in a structurally inert enclosure.
VIABLUE™ UFOs support the speaker, adding stability and additional vibration control while contributing to the overall material and design language. The proportions were chosen to visually balance the acrylic baffle with the sculpted enclosure, giving the MACARENA a distinctly architectural presence. The result is a structure that is exceptionally rigid and quiet, allowing the drivers to perform as intended.
The hybrid open-baffle configuration gives the MACARENA a level of dimensionality rarely found in compact loudspeakers. Designed to fit naturally into everyday living spaces, the MACARENA brings MACO's open-baffle approach to a wider range of rooms and listening environments.
THE ACRYLIC BAFFLE
The acrylic baffle is key to the design, reflecting MACO®'s signature open-baffle architecture. It is decoupled from the enclosure by a thin damping layer, separating the driver structure from the cabinet while allowing the architecture of the MACARENA to remain visible. From the front, the clear baffle reveals the dispersion tail and creates the impression that the upper driver is floating.
THE DISPERSION TAIL
Behind the driver is MACO®'s dispersion tail, developed to address an often-overlooked aspect of dipole loudspeaker engineering: the rear wave. The structure works in a similar way to a phase plug, helping control standing waves and turbulence behind the magnet and directing the rear signal more naturally into the room. The result is greater resolution, air and coherence.

ENGINEERED FOR RESOLUTION
The upper driver uses a magnesium-alloy diaphragm and extends to 30,000 Hz, delivering high resolution, speed, air and effortless detail. Like the MACARIA, the MACARENA uses a nonconventional crossover point, allowing the upper driver to operate over a broad range rather than handing off at a conventional point.
The crossover is deliberately kept as simple as possible to minimize its influence on the amplification and source. Top-of-the-line ClarityCap PUR capacitors deliver exceptional transparency and superb definition, and VIABLUE™ binding posts and silver-coated internal wiring complete the signal path.
The MACARENA is highly resolving and dynamic without becoming unforgiving. It works well with tube or solid-state amplification, maintaining transparency and source truth while remaining musical and remarkably composed with complex passages.
